This lovely museum provides travelling exhibits as well as glimpses into the culture and history of Albuquerque and its people. Free admission on Sundays until 1pm, but otherwise it is only a few dollars and worth a visit if you want a quick intro to the area.

This little place is a gem. The old motel was converted to restaurants and shops surrounding an outdoor patio. A perfect place to grab a bite - everyone can select the food of their choice and meet up at one of the tables in the courtyard to enjoy it together. There is often music and plenty to see as you stroll through the shops. Easy to combine this with a trip to the botanic gardens and aquarium which are just across the street.

Top it off with an ice cream taco from Pop Fizz! There is live music, outdoor yoga (drop-ins welcome) and plenty of people willing to chat.

The ambiance and service are exquisite. The food is quite good. The views are stunning. Reservations are required for the dining area - though seating in the bar is open but still very busy - which is a good sign. I have hopes to hike up the La Luz trail, which ends right at the restaurant and grab a beer and a burger some fall afternoon!
