Masada is an ancient fortress in southern Israel’s Judean Desert. It's on a massive plateau overlooking the Dead Sea. At the top are the ruins of King Herod's Palace and a Roman-style bathhouse with mosaic floors. The Masada Museum has archaeological exhibits and recreations of historical scenes. For those unable to climb the long snake path to the top, there is an option to take a cable car.
Great place to watch the sun rises if you can get there that early. Make sure to pack lots of water and sunscreen for this trip!
