Lake Merritt is lit all year round with little lights and it can be magical to walk around in the early evening and then explore the shops and restaurants of Lakeshore and Grand Avenues. We enjoy the walk at any time of day

One of our favorite things to do is take the Ferry from Jack London to San Francisco because the views are spectacular and you can just get lost in the city without the worry of parking
