On a warm day swim at the Tradouw pass. Don’t miss this spectacular unspoiled area with the most amazing rock pools. To get there by car:
Take the R62 towards Cape Town.
After a few km, turn off the R62 towards the Tradouw Pass and Swellendam.
Travel 11km along the road.
On the right hand side of the road you pass see a two laybys. After the 2nd make a U-Turn a little further (where safe). Drive back towards Barrydale and park at the first layby on your left.
Walk around 200m back towards Swellendam until you see a white sign that says 25. Just after this there is are some bushes – looking through them you will see a clearing to the rocks that you can easily climb down (few metres).

Out of school holidays the Warmwater Springs are open to day visitors. These pools offer hot water pools which are fabulous on a cold day, or to ease those aching muscles. Phone ahead to make sure they are open.
