The town of Akumal is a short drive away and is a must see on your to do list. The bay itself offers a variety of things to do from snorkeling with the turtles, grab lunch or dinner at one of several popular restaurants. Across the highway, be sure to check out the pueblo's many quaint eateries showcasing the authentic culture and local flavors of the area. There is also a local outdoor market where you can find many of the fresh fruits and vegetables that are native to the region. There is the Monkey Sanctuary, and many locally owned shops to explore.
