Located two minutes from Inchbonnie Hall is Lake Poerua. A great place to bring a boat or stand by the shore and do some fishing - plenty of trout here!

Located just 10 minutes drive from the Hall is Carew Creek Falls. At 30 meters high, Carew Creek Falls is located near Lake Brunner in the Lake Brunner/Mitchells Scenic Reserve. Pleasant walk through the forest brings you to the waterfall's base where you can sit on large granite boulders and enjoy the view. This exquisite waterfall is included into New Zealand Must See Waterfalls list.

A 30 minute drive to Arthurs Pass will see you arriving at the Devils Punchbowl Walk. This spectacular waterfall (131m) can be seen from the main road but a walk to the base of the waterfall is well worth doing in any weather. The track crosses the Bealey River and Punchbowl creek with the aid of two footbridges before zigzagging up steps (240 of them) through mountain beech forest to a viewing area just below the falls. Return the same way.

City/town information

Arthurs Pass links the West and the East coast. An historic town with it's own identity, you will enjoy the local walks and tramps and cafes. Small but perfect in every way. Highly recommended as a place to visit.

A fantastic small town roughly 45 minutes drive from Inchbonnie. Historic? Yes! Gold mining, Greenstone, Glass Blowing along with local artists and eateries this town is well worth the drive!
