Visit the silo art and whilst you are there enjoy the Wirrabara Forest - I recommend a trip area known as the Nursery which has a spectacular array of magnificent trees, a great place for a picnic lunch. The Wirrabara playground is great for older children and there are two bakeries to enjoy.

Take a stroll along the ‘chicken run’, follow the creek south (towards Adelaide) from the tennis courts. This is a great walk / ride for children.

This great little bakery, has a petting zoo and walk in bird aviary! A great stop on your way back to Adelaide.

I recommend the North Star Hotel for great food and atmosphere! The laksa and Thai noodle salad are our favourite dishes . I recommend booking ahead to secure a table.

The Melrose Museum offers a lot more than you expect! A great place to learn about the history of the area, allow 1-2 hours to explore all of the exhibits. Interactive experiences for children and highly recommended for first time visitors.

Just down the road from Base Camp, Store 54 is the local general store and petrol station. They offer take away and cafe style food. Grocery lines are limited but they do stock most of the essentials!.
