Saltaire is a Victorian model village just a short drive from Heron Cottage. Salts Mill and the village are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The renovated mill houses a large collection of the works of David Hockney as well as several independent shops.
In September, Saltaire Festival celebrates the history of the village with food, music and exhibitions as well as events for kids in Roberts Park.

St Ives is a Country Park and a favourite with locals. As well as great walks, there’s a fantastic playground and the ice cream van is there almost every day, even in winter.
