Located about 40 minutes from Truro on highway 215 in Maitland, there are several white water rafting operations which offer an experience not to be missed! Families, groups or individuals can book with one of these companies and will be taken out on the Bay of Fundy mudflats at low tide to sit in a boat, a Zodiac or a small craft and wait for the incoming tide. During Red Tides especially, adventurers will be absolutely thrilled as they ride the waves, have an opportunity to swim once the tides have abated, and then be treated to a steak dinner or a campfire. Our recommendation: Shubenacadie River Adventure Tours, 888-878-8687.
