Kayakoy Ghost Village. Where an entire mountain village has been left unoccupied since the Greeks were driven out by the Turks - the story is fascinating, and worth visiting to walk through to the top to see the views. There are several relaxing places to eat and drink - we chose a place where a horse wandered straight up to the bar and was welcomed by the barman - strange but fun.

Kayakoy Ghost Village. Where an entire mountain village has been left unoccupied since the Greeks were driven out by the Turks - the story is fascinating, and worth visiting to walk through to the top to see the views. There are several relaxing places to eat and drink - we chose a place where a horse wandered straight up to the bar and was welcomed by the barman - strange but fun.
Parks & Nature
Babadag mountain - visible from our lounge and master bedroom, where you see hang-gliders hovering above it all day long. Take a dolmus to the summit - 6000 feet above sea level, 14kms to the top. Watch the intrepid hang-gliders taking off. Or if you're brave enough you can pay to take a tandem flight. Flights bookable via our tourism contact, or in Oludeniz.

Market Day in Hisaronu is Monday - for food and clothes and much more - do your best with the bartering! The market pancakes are great - very Turkish. Get there before they close down at about 1pm.
Hisaronu has many, many places to eat and drink. Here are a few of our favourites:

OVACIK is an extension of Hisaronu - because it is not in the main street it has some excellent value restaurants, and personally, I think some of the best are in Ovacik, for example:-
3 CHEERS - this is our favourite restaurant in the whole of Turkey because the owner is friendly, his food is varied and authentic and very good - he will explain all about the food and the cooking with a passion. It is located on the main road on the left as you leave Hisaronu and just before the Club Orka Hotel
ALMOND RESTAURANT is also excellent, from Orka Park is located at the bottom of the road on the right near the main road junction.
CHILL OUT BAR - even closer to Orka Park, halfway down the hill.

Ovacık Mahallesi
OVACIK is an extension of Hisaronu - because it is not in the main street it has some excellent value restaurants, and personally, I think some of the best are in Ovacik, for example:-
3 CHEERS - this is our favourite restaurant in the whole of Turkey because the owner is friendly, his food is varied and authentic and very good - he will explain all about the food and the cooking with a passion. Market Day in Fethiye is Tuesday - this is a huge market - food, clothes, leather goods, etc. - Much haggling is expected, so have a go to get a bargain. Take a dolmus - or a taxi to find it.

A decent sized supermarket, only half a mile from Orka Park, selling the usual food and drink as well as sun creams, beach shoes, batteries, adaptors, etc.

Yavuz at Tiny Akropol is our friend of many years. His office/shop front is in Hisaronu. He arranges car hire and excursions. He also does all our airport transfers because he is utterly reliable.
