East End Beach is a great place to take dogs (May-Sept they are only allowed before 9am and after 5pm. The rest of the year they are allowed all day). It's best at low tide- way more space. You can also see the islands of Casco Bay from here, and in the summer lots of sailboats are moored here. During the summer, daytime, it's usually packed with families. There are restrooms on site and usually some sort of food cart. Free entry. Parking can be tricky, but also free in 3 lots.
