Horse Gin, Castlemain Mill, Forest of Dean

Horse Gin is named after an old local coal shaft as the owners main house, Castlemain Mill, on the same site was previously the Parkend Deep Navigation Collieries office. Pathwell Farm has 2 dog friendly self catering holiday lets - Ash (sleeps 4) and Oak (sleeps 2 +2 on a sofa bed). Perfect to rent out individually or together for larger groups. Each let has its own enclosed courtyard. There is a designated 2 acre exercise field. Parking for several cars. The Royal Forest of Dean has miles of very scenic footpaths and fantastic bike tracks. Close by are Chepstow, Monmouth, Coleford, Ross on Wye and the Wye Valley - an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”.

Boasting beautiful forest views we are in easy reach of all that the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley have to offer, hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lining , castles and much more - however if all that sounds too exhausting take one of the many scenic walks from your front door or relax in the hot tub and unwind. It's is a fabulous place for walkers and town escapees. Once a woodman’s cottage, with a cosy, spacious interior, fully equipped kitchen, log burner, very comfortable beds, all you need for a relaxing break. Not suitable for young children 1-12, the large garden has a pond and steep terracing.

Our beautiful beamed attached cottage complete with log burner is set in over 3 acres of private ancient woodland, in the Forest of Dean near the River Wye. The garden path leads down to a secluded orchard which is a haven for birds, deer & wildlife. The cottage is located in a quiet country lane, with walks to our local pubThe Ostrich Inn and town. We are close to all ammenities, cycle trails, river activities and the best of what the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley has to offer.
