Our trails & woods have been ravaged with 100's of trees down. Many trails are still not cleared. Our 1.5 mile upper ridge trail loop and one river trail are now open. Pastures and fields are mostly cleared and all areas around the cottage are completely cleared with amazing long range views of fields and mountains.

Beech and Appalachian are other ski areas, but they are a bit further away. Linville Gorge, Grandfather Mountain, and Mt Mitchell are easily day hikes.

At a cool elevation of 3,500 feet there is always a lovely cool breeze. Private in every way. Fine dining and bar within walking distance. Two night minimum. The cottage now has air conditioning (it’s very quiet). We have WiFi now and TV.

We are located on 10 secluded acres with striking mountain views, lush landscapes and abundant wildlife. After exploring artist studios, gem mining, river rafting, hiking mountain trails, dining at local restaurants, or a day of shopping, return and relax on our large wrap-around front porch and wait for the fireflies to appear.
