Not a great place for swimming. Nice place to picnic, or sit and read a book. (Non-Covid) There are live music summer concerts Thursday evenings.

So close and fun! Free parking if you do drive but this is walkable and there are bathrooms, food, and volleyball.

Esker Point Beach is a man-made beach that has 600 feet of beach, picnic area under shade trees, plenty of free parking and restrooms. They also offer free seasonal concerts on Thursday nights. Check their Facebook page for details. Be aware, there are no lifeguards on duty.

Esker Beach in Groton is only 10 minutes away, and is completely kid friendly. No waves, nearby playground, snack shack, etc. I think parking is still free, and the walk from the parking lot to the sand is short.
