The Karoo Art Hotel is one of my favourite country hotels in the whole world. It is fun, funky, arty, and a bit eccentric, but totally warm and welcoming at the same time. It has vibrant art on all its walls and a great local vibe, whilst its restaurant serves hearty food. During winter they show retro movies in their original bioskoop cinema - with popcorn thrown in. It also has a lovely pool oasis.

Dereck, the hotel chef serves up fantastic meals in the Hotel's restaurant. It can get quite busy.

The pepper steak is a definite must. Chef Derek is wonderful and the waitresses are super friendly.
