You can’t drive to Whittier without going through the tunnel. North America’s longest tunnel at 2.5 miles. It is shared with the railroad and has scheduled vehicle usage. Check schedule on website.

Take the tunnel to the town of Whittier. Good place to go kayaking or fishing.
