Attracts more than half a million visitors every year who want to go volcano watching. Aside from the observatory, you can take a helicopter tour of the park, climb the volcano, hike along the trails, see elk, fish at Coldwater Lake, explore caves, and ride horses at the Eco Park. Distance: 3hr 15min

Mt. Saint Helens Monument is a interpretive science and learning center. The mountain is known, among other things, for it's major 1980 eruption, the deadliest and most destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States. Approximately a 2 hour drive.

Our other nearby volcano; 1.5 hrs to get there, a full days outing--check it out online. You can actually see this volcano on a clear day from a lot of places in Lacey.
