This is more than just a museum. It has an actual barge, and like some other places I have recommended it's also on the New York Haunted History Trail. It gives you a glimpse into barge life and what the locks looked like. Don't miss if you're into the Eerie Canal

Step aboard a replica canal boat! These used to go through the middle of Syracuse, and all other Upstate NY cities. This is how much of the country was settled, and goods transported before rail.
