Parangtritis is a beautiful beach in the south of Yogyakarta. But you are not allowed to swim in the beach as the weave is high and dangerous.Next to it is Parangkusumo beach,famous for sand boarding

Less than 30 km away this is one of many beaches in the South. Lava sand beach - lots of activities and couleur locale. Good for long beach walks. Not so much for swimming. Still a great day out.

The nearest beach, with black sand came from the volcanic Merapi mountain. Very stunning view over the sunset.
