Göta kanal byggdes genom Sverige på 1800-talet för att göra det möjligt att resa vattenvägen från huvudstaden Stockholm till Sveriges näst största stad Göteborg. Kanalen löper genom Töreboda. Det finns mycket att se och göra längs kanalen, enklast är att söka på internet efter information (Airbnb gömmer externa länkar så jag kan inte länka här tyvärr).

Både i Motala och närliggande Borensberg finns bra promenadstråk längs kanalen.
