Free entry to a really well curated museum. Free parking immediately outside which is helpful!
There is a magnificent, incogruous Durbar Hall in the museum, and the fascinating story of a Hastings resident who went to America and passed himself off as a native American, Grey Owl played by Pierce Brosnan in the terrible 1999 film. At the mo there is an exhibition of automata. You do have to Covidly ring and book a time.
Hastings museum is quirky and fun - there are some interesting (slightly random seeming) exhibits and it is child friendly. A short stroll from the town centre, it is worth a visit.
Council owned museum behind White Rock Gardens containing a diverse collection of local and not-so-local interest including the Durbar Hall and Native American collection.
Local history is displayed in two new galleries: Before Hastings tells the story of this area from prehistory to the Saxons, and The Story of Hastings in 66 Objects, which continues the story from 1066 to today. This is where you can discover all sorts of fascinating stories and inspiring people who hve made Hastings the town we know today. Free admission.
