Waarom lokale bewoners het aanbevelen
The Strand’s vast film section is near the back of the first floor, where the ladder-high shelves are crammed with an amazing mix of popular, rare, and used books. You can find a strong selection of memoirs, screenplay collections, or even books on film scoring. Sometimes you find what you’re looking for. Often you discover something even better. Upstairs in the Rare Book Room, check out valuables like The Adventures of Antoine Doinel: Four Screenplays by Francois Truffaut, inscribed by Truffaut to film critic John Simon for $1,000.
Tips van locals
One of my favorite spots in all of NYC. Stacks and stacks of books old and new.
Strand - Also touristy but worth a visit! Miles of books used and new. Famous tote bags.
If you're a book nerd like me, you'll love this ENORMOUS, independent bookstore.
