There are plenty of strange bowls in Japan, and the pizza mazesoba—a pizza-flavored soupless ramen—at this black box of a basement diner falls into that category. But it is amazing: soy-based and with normal noodles, but topped with pepperoni, olives, cheese, and so on. Super hard to find, but at least the name is written in Roman letters. It’s on a little side street near Oimachi Station, down a few stairs in a white-tiled building. You can’t see it until you’re right in front.
