A small spa town, steeped in history, and yet has designer shops, boutiques, fabulous restaurants and great cafés. People come from all over Italy to take the spa waters of Acqui Terme. The water comes to the surface, in the middle of the city in the Piazza Bollente where people gather daily, some to drink, others to wash their hands and face in the sulfuric scented fountain which is heated naturally to 75° centigrade. They say the water helps cleanse the liver.
