If you're into history then this is a must-see. Ranging from artifacts from the earliest inhabitants right up to Captain Cook and the wreck of the Buffalo sailing ship, then on to more modern settler artifacts. Personally this is on my must do list for new -visitors to the area!

The Whitianga museum is housed in the original 1937 Dairy Factory is a great place to become absorbed in some of the fascinating history of Mercury Bay.
