Food by The Shore
Leith has some excellent eating and drinking spots, with two michelin-starred restaurants within a stone's throw of one another, coffee shops that roast their own beans on site, and some excellent brunch options to name a few. Here are a few places to get you started, but honestly you can take a stroll around the neighbourhood, pick somewhere that looks good and you're unlikely to go wrong!
I recommend this place to all my guests. It's easily the best breakfast and brunch in the area that I've come across, and it's only a ten minute walk from me. They're not just about brunch though; they also do excellent lunches and homemade cakes, and serve coffee roasted just minutes away at Williams and Johnson. While they don't do dinner, they're an excellent option any time between 8.30 and 15.30 every day!

An excellent cafe that bakes their own bread and cakes, and makes all their own quiches and salads fresh for lunch every day. A very good option for an easy lunch.

Relish is a good option if you're looking for sandwiches to go. A wide array of sandwich fillings are available, with a good number of bread and salad options to accompany them. They also offer homemade soup! A good choice if you're looking for something to take with you on a day out.

A perfect example of a contemporary British pub; family-friendly, with sports on TV, and a good range of reasonably priced food. They also have an excellent range of whiskies to try, and a seating area right on the water round the back for sunny afternoons.

They're also owned by the same people who run Fishers next door, I believe. Their menu is on par with their neighbour and counterpart, with dishes starting from around £14. While I've never eaten here personally, I'm sure it will be just as good as Fishers.

Just 2 minutes from my place, it's the nearest supermarket. It's only a small one but it's well supplied, and has an ATM outside. They also sell EU-UK plug adapters for those that need them.

An excellent bike repair and hire shop that I've used several times. If you're planning a bike tour around Scotland and need your bike looking at, or just want to borrow a bike to see the city with, this is the best place in the neighbourhood!

If you need to print anything off while staying with me, this is the nearest place. It's around a twelve minute walk en route to town; you can quite easily work this into a trip into a back from town, as both the number 16 and number 22 have stops nearby.
