“The Chicken Box is a classic "Dive" bar. It can be crowded and rowdy or sleepy, depending on the entertainment and what else is happening on that night. Check their web site for the planned events.”

“Walk the pedestrian public path along the bluff overlooking the Atlantic. The ocean will be on one side and you can view the houses from the other. I like to walk here especially at dusk. You can walk from the Sconset Market to the Sankaty lighthouse (this can take about 45 minutes at a leisurely pace).”

“Don't miss this hidden gem of a lunch spot. Sandwiches are delicious, prepared to order on homemade bread, with any fixing you can imagine. Some of our favorites: the 'veggie,' the 'avocado, cheddar and chutney,' and the 'chicken salad.' Eat in or take out. This is a Nantucket classic.”

“If you are up for a quick grocery shop, the Stop & Shop is a block or two from where you disembarked the Steamship Authority. If you took the HyLine, you are right there. Grab the essentials before you head to the house. Tea is probably there, but coffee probably not. Remember that grocery stores in Massachusetts don't sell alcohol, and you must go to a liquor store to purchase it. Fresh on Salem St., or Murray's on Main St. will take care of you in town. When in town, we have found that going to this Stop and Shop is very easy to use. I wouldn't use it as my first choice of grocery stores unless I was already in town, or biking in. Traffic is atrocious and driving into town is often counter productive. ”
