Vervoersmogelijkheden in Memphis

Museum
“This is easily the best museum we have ever been to. This was the motel Dr. Martin Luther King was shot at, in 1968. Converted to a museum inside, the exterior still looks just like the motel. The National Civil Rights Museum is a complex of museums and historic buildings in Memphis; its exhibits trace the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the US from the 17th century to the present.”

“I can't make a list and not include Beale. The history is incredible. Now it's mostly neon and bars. Lots of bars, restaurants, and live music that they think tourists would like. I go maybe once or twice a year. You can have an open container on the street and I think they serve til 5 or 6 AM. It's fun to walk with a drink in your hand. LOTS of great souvenir shops.”

“The Peabody is probably best known around the world for a custom dating back to the 1930s. The General Manager of the time, Frank Schutt, had just returned from a weekend hunting trip in Arkansas. He and his friends found it amusing to leave their live decoy ducks in the hotel fountain. The guests loved the idea, and since then, ducks have played in the fountain every day.”

“The Rendezvous is the most famous BBQ restaurant in the city. A lot of Memphians like to hate on it because it's "popular". Don't listen to the haters. This place is fantastic. The food, the ambiance, and location can't be beat. Obviously you'll order ribs but I'd also HIGHLY recommend the Lamb Riblets and Sausage & Cheese plate. ”
