Mason County has been located along Comanche Creek for over 150 years. The creek extends 20 miles where it ends in the Llano River. In the 1850's, a stagecoach line running from San Antonio to El Paso where the Comanche Indians often lay in ambush in the hills along the creek, hence the name. Fort Mason was built overlooking Comanche Creek & a spring ran down the hillside into the creek & supplied the fort with water.
Cabin #1 is all new construction & well finished from local up-cycled materials inside and out. The inside has a cozy country cabin feel. The cabin sleeps up to 4 & is furnished with a King Size bed & an open living area with a queen size sleeper sofa (with queen linens/pillows provided, upon request, as needed.)
