Deze studio in de Hawaiiaanse inrichting is zeer functioneel. Het heeft een klein tweepersoonsbed, een keuken met bestek, kleine koelkast en magnetron, een badkamer met een handdoek, producten en een haardroger. De tuin is prachtig, met alles wat je nodig hebt voor het strand. Het is een ingang en een eigen tuin. Er is geen ruimte om te delen. Wij raden! :)

De Lanai is een traktatie! Het hebben van een eigen buitenruimte is zeldzaam op een reis als deze, en het was zo ontspannend om te hebben. Deze plek is perfect, want je kunt lopen naar voedsel, rijden een korte afstand, of ga op een dagje uit, afhankelijk van uw plannen. Het past alle behoeften. De overdekte ruimte is minimaal, maar het werkt goed, en de gastheer bood doordachte items.

Claire was een fantastische gastheer. De nacht dat we landden, was het bestorming en we eindigden-up krijgen omgedraaid. Claire bleef aan de telefoon met ons en leidde ons naar onze bestemming! Schoon, gezellig; een weg te slaan van het café; deze plek is een juweeltje.

De plaats was erg mooi en schoon. Claire was erg lief en antwoordde snel terug. Als ik was om te verblijven in Maui opnieuw zal ik zeker hier terug te komen!

Het was een zeer rustige, prive en rustige plek om te verblijven. We waren blij zijn weg van de toeristische scene en genoten van het eten in Haiku en Paia in de avonduren. This was a wonderful little place to stay. It is very clean and private. You have your own small private yard and a wonderful little screened in porch. The location can't be beat and it is in a beautiful neighborhood (that isn't far from the airport and easy to find). My husband and I came alone on this trip and the place was perfect for that, but with the small yard this would be a great place for a small family as well! We loved our stay here and would definitely consider returning next time we are on Maui!

Clair and Billy's Ho'okipa Hideaway was an absolute gem. It's a great place with plenty of room for a couple. This was the perfect little home away from home. The kitchen was well equipped with a hot plate, pots & pans, full size fridge, knives and utensils. We like to cook our own food as opposed to eating out and this worked out great. They also provided teas and coffee w/coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable and the entire place was clean. They even provide beach towels and beach chairs plus a small cooler with freezer pack. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood in Haiku it was very easy for us to get around the rest of the island and not be in the busy tourist areas. Kind of blend in a bit. If/when we return to Maui I hope we can stay with Clair and Billy again. Nice folks and a perfect setting.

This sweet amazing hideaway is a perfect escape within an perfect escape! Claire and Billy really made sure all our needs were met. The studio is spacious, has all you need, is super close to sweet waves and magical sunsets!

Given the price of places to stay on Maui, you're getting what you pay for. There were ants everywhere and spiders crawling around constantly. There are no fans and even with the windows open at night it is so hot. The bed resembled a concrete floor and while the wifi was great, nothing about this place was reflected in the photos.

The place is exacly like on pictures , its comfy, very safe, adorable and you will feel like at your own home ! The place is near everything : beautiful beach , Paia town, and on the legendary road to Hana!! Thanks again Napua for the hospitality and for the fruits you gave us :)))

The room was great and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. No a/c, but the climate keeps the room comfortable. Great location to see the sights and enjoy the island.

Great place to stay in up-country Maui. Quiet location and definitely need a car to get around. Not far from some great beaches and the pretty little town of Paia. It was a good base for exploring the whole island!

The room I stayed in had everything I needed to accommodate my stay in Maui. The space is large with great views of the natural outdoors. I believe the home sits on 3 acres, although I was unable to explore the surrounding land what I did see was beautiful. From the Papaya trees, to the flowers and natural fauna. The apartment itself is equipped with a toaster over, microwave, full kitchen, sofa, bathroom and a bed. This was a very comfortable place to come back to after a long day out @ the beach. Please note, you will need to rent a car as the location is 10 mins from the main town of Paia, this wasn't an issue for me just an FYI for those traveling to Maui, general rule is to rent a car if you plan on getting around efficiently.

This is a great place to stay for a short time, very quiet and isolated. But the area rains a lot, at least the days we stayed. Not a beach area. You need to have your car to drive in, there are bugs, I saw a small lizard. Morning rooster can wake you up in the morning, so you may want to wear ear plugs

We really enjoyed our stay. Anna and Michael are very welcoming and great at communicating. The house is about 10-15 minutes from the beach and has a view of the ocean. The house is very clean but it is in a quiet neighborhood that used to be a farming community. So the winding driveway is dirt and gravel and you may encounter some cute lizards. They have everything you could need for your stay! We really felt like we were experiencing the real Hawaii there- fresh tropical flowers, advocados growing in the yard, roasters walking around- we had a great time!

The cabin was wonderful. It's a little bit of a drive to get to the nicest beaches and hikes but it's perfect if you want to relax and get away from the resorts. I can't imagine our trip to Maui with this place!

This was a nice place to stay and Michael was a great host, unfortunately we did not meet Anna. Keep in mind when considering this location that this is rural Maui, which was exactly what we wanted, but be aware there are definitely bugs present in this natural environment. Still, we could tell the hosts do their best to keep them out of the indoors - screens were all in good repair and lots of traps around the house. This is a great place for a unique and authentic stay in rural Maui.

John's plaats was een geweldige plek om terug te komen na een lange dag van het verkennen.

In de eerste plaats - we hebben genoten van ons verblijf zeer veel. De 1bk appartement is de begane grond eenheid van een 2-unit-huis op een groot terrein gelegen aan het einde van een doodlopende weg in een rustige woonwijk, omringd door tropische landschap. Omdat we nogal laat aankwamen waren we erg blij dat het appartement volledig gevuld was met werkelijk alle basic items (zoals zeep, shampoo, afwasmiddel, koffiefilters, wasmiddel voor de wasmachine, zout, olie en kruiden in de keuken enz. Pp.) , zelfs koffie en enkele heerlijke sinaasappels uit Johns tuin. Na onze lange reis waren we erg dankbaar voor. Stranden in de buurt, Hookipa Beach Park ongeveer 8 minuten met de auto (zeeschildpadden op het strand elke dag dat we er gingen, zag zelfs een zee monniksrob een keer), Baldwin Beach Park 15min. Prachtig klein stadje Paia met een heleboel leuke restaurants op slechts 15min. Communicatie met John was uitstekend, reageerde hij vaak binnen een paar minuten om onze boodschappen. Voor ons was het appartement een goede uitvalsbasis om het eiland te verkennen. Als u wilt voorkomen dat de menigte haar zeker een uitstekende keuze.

We hadden een geweldig verblijf in dit gezellige Ohana. Hoewel we John niet voldeden, omdat we elkaar altijd miste het contact via mail was erg leuk. Hij antwoordde ook meteen op alle vragen die we hadden. De plaats was erg mooi en alles is zoals beschreven werd. Haiku-Pauwela was een goed uitgangspunt voor het verkennen van het eiland. John's plaats was geweldig! Hoewel het duurde een tijdje om te trekken uit, vonden we terug naar dit rustige afgelegen plek !! Zou zeker weer in Haiku blijven !!! John's buren waren super vriendelijk en boden suggesties van dingen te doen !! Een van onze favoriete dingen was om de schildpadden te zien op Ho'opika Beach 10 minuten!

John was a great host. He met us upon arrival, fixed a few things at the home, gave us good travel advice, then we had plenty of privacy on our trip. The home had full appliances, everything we needed and John answered his phone for anything else.

Great little place that's centrally locate to Haleakala National Park, paragliding and a few surf spots. You're also a hop skip and jump away from the Road to Hana and the first set of waterfalls (Twin Falls) on that drive. This place is much larger than the pictures would have you believe which was nice because we could spread out and not worry about cramped conditions. The rooftop lanai was cute but we never spent any time up there. Tim and Judy also stocked their place pretty well. They had beach chairs and beach towels, sunscreen, coolers, all the things you'd need for a day out and about. Tim was a wealth of information. I'd recommend staying here if you were on Maui.

Judit & Tim were extremely friendly and helpful. Tim gave us great tips on places to see and places to eat. The apartment itself is huge. The bedroom is tucked away on a different level, which gives it complete privacy. It would be a great place for an entire family. The place is very close to the beach but you still would need a car. Overall, it was a great experience!

Tim and Judy were awesome hosts! They took time to come by to greet us and provided valuable insights on places to go. The apartment has everything that we needed and much more. It is convenient and close to the Hana highway. The place was quiet and we slept very well. We would definitely stay here again if we are back in Maui! :)

Stefano provided wonderful directions for getting to the apartment. We enjoyed the location and appreciated having a kitchenette as well as acces to shared washer and dryer. Clean and a quiet location. The bed was terribly hard though.

The place was nice, and had almost everything needed. We didn't meet Stephano but the check-in went well and he gave us all instructions needed to find the place and the key. There is not a lot of sun light in the appartement but we were not in Hawaii to stay inside.

Great place! Cute guest studio separate from rest of property. Nice private patio for use as well. Kitchen was nicely furnished and lots of thoughtful items (towels, bug spray) as well. Thanks to Damien for a great stay!

Wow what a great place in the best location on Maui. There's a great little store about 200 feet away with delicious coffee, smoothies and groceries. Plus you can walk to Mama's Fish House (the BEST restaurant on Maui) in 5 minutes. The private backyard and outdoor shower were great. The kitchen was super functional and has everything you need to cook. The bed was comfy. The decor was very classic Maui surf Shack. Also super close to Paia, turtle Beach and some amazing hikes. Much rather stay here than any hotel on Maui. Hope to return again soon. Damien was a great host!

If you are looking for something outside of the congested touristy spots, check out Napua's place. She coordinated check in with us and was super accommodating in providing a variety of seldom-explored hiking areas. We appreciated her local expertise.

The host: Max is by far one of the most interesting person my wife and I have met. He is genuinely concerned about the quality of the stay and made us feel very welcome. Max and Tracey generously shared fruits and flowers from their private orchard with us. Max also had great suggestions for places to check out on Maui. The Location: We stayed at the windward studio and the place is perfect for 2 ppl. We enjoyed views of the ocean and cool breeze at nights. The place has everything you will need - towels, toiletries, comfy bed with extra pillows and blankets, a couch to relax on, dining table, beach towels, and snorkeling gear. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, knives, plates, bowls, cutlery, toaster, rice cooker, microwave, etc. The island has a number of places for grocery shopping. Use the juicer! Max will ensure you do :) The cottage is quiet and secluded but in a safe neighborhood and just off Hana highway. It is conveniently located for short trips to Hana and Haleakala crater. There are two towns nearby - Paia and Haiku - with good restaurant options. A very good option if you want to be away from the resorts and want to experience the real Maui!

Great host, great place and will go back again

Max's studio was the perfect getaway that my boyfriend and I had envisioned for our trip to Maui. Location: beautiful, quiet, perfect view of the ocean. Perfect place on the island as you can easily access all of Maui. Space: very clean with all the amenities to make yourself more than comfortable. Host: Wonderful!! We can not stress this enough! Max did everything and more to make our trip an unforgettable one from recommending the hidden gems of Maui, delivering fresh fruit on our doorstep in the morning to just being a great guy whom we were grateful to meet. We are definitely going back to Maui and when we do we will stay in Max's studio without question.

First off, we were given directions to the wrong section of the property, not a big deal. But upon, entering our studio, it was somewhat underwhelming. It was hot with only a small ceiling fan for "cooling." Our biggest issue, are the geckos and roaches seen inside. A warning of the geckos would have been appreciated in the description but the roaches are unacceptable. It felt gross being inside. As for the view, we didn't get to see it but I'm sure it was great as it's remotely located off of Hana highway.

Paia is a perfect town to discover the local hippies and surfer lifestyle.

Perfect spot location wise, good island recommendations by host, as far as The place itself it was good for home base to sleep, and shower. Had plenty of towels, and beach supplies for us to use. Paia was perfect little town to be next to. Would stay again. Thanks!

We verbleven voor een week met onze 2,5 yo. Deze plek is magisch en biedt een geweldige toevluchtsoord van ons drukke leven in de stad! De gastheren paste ook een avond en onze zoon was in goede handen. We hebben ook genoten van vers fruit en geitenmelk uit hun boerderij. Zeer rustig en mooi decor! Je kunt zien dat deze plek is geliefd!

We wilden een plek midden in de natuur, met uitzicht op de oceaan, prive en rustig. Dit is precies wat we kregen en we waren blij. Nachten waren absoluut stil en herstellende geniet van een geroerd. Alles was zo handig.

A lovely retreat off the beaten path, in a more rural/residential part of the island. Nice to be away from the commercial strips. Access to the fruit growing on the property is fantastic. Cleanliness in our room could have been a bit better. A bit of an informal, funky feel, not fancy, but spacious and open. Lovely breezey ocean view.

Tastefully decorated. Very clean, modern, chic apartment located next to Mama's Fish House (well worth the splurge!) and conveniently down the road from Paia town (more restaurants and shops). You can hear the Hana highway traffic from the bedroom but we were so tired from the day's adventures that it didn't bother us! No AC but there are ceiling fans and you get a nice Hawaiian breeze through the space. Love the unique woodwork in the bathroom and furnishings. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into the details. Thanks for the comfortable stay!

Got to meet Paola as she was readying the apartment since we arrived early - super kind and friendly! Paola and Paolo's place was really beautiful and peaceful, impeccably clean, and unique. Close to center town Paia, a short drive to town and beaches. Definitely a great place to stay for a lovely retreat :)

La maison était très propre et tout à fait charmant. Nous avons apprécié la proximité de l'océan et l'air merveilleux. Il était facile de trouver et de précision de la description. Oui, le bruit de la circulation était bruyant et le prix estimé élevé pour ce qu'il offre, mais Paolo conserve une très belle maison et nous étions à l'aise.

Great location in a beautiful apt. Only drawback from me was the traffic noise from the road outside but if that doesn't bother you I would highly recommend this apt.

Upea asunto! Meillä oli hauskaa. Majoitus sijaitsee kävelymatkan etäisyydellä kaunis kahvila mutta hyvin lyhyen ajomatkan päässä rannalta ja Surf paikalla. Asunto oli yksityinen ja hyvin varusteltu. Just stayed a week at this beautiful and very unique place. Everything about it was phenomenal the location, the view from the balcony, the sea breeze, hospitality. It's location is great for those planning the road to Hana, or simply avoiding all the tourists and crowds of the main cities. I would recommend it without a hesitation to anyone planning a trip to Maui.

Great clean stylish spot

Très belle isolée endroit calme. Nous avons été très surpris de la taille et de nettoyer la chambre à coucher, salle de bains, cuisine, chambres familiales étaient. Facile à trouver et parc. Idéal pour les couples qui veulent la vie privée et tous les équipements aussi bien!

Nice appartment in a beautiful environment, not far from Haiku and Paia villages. The appartment we had was very clean and convenient. We could park the car nearby which we liked too. We did not really cook during our stay, but the large kitchen has everything you may need to do so.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Haiku-Pauwela !! die Unterkunft war groß, sehr sauber und mit allem, was Sie brauchen um Ihren Aufenthalt angenehm zu machen. Für uns war es sehr gut auch nur am Anfang auf dem Weg nach Hana ein Tag Ausflug, den wir sehr genossen gelegen. Der Strand am Hookipa Strand seine unglaubliche wir haben Schildkröten zu sehen und auch ein Siegel auf dem Sand herauskommen. Die Nachbarschaft war super, sehr ruhig und mit einem schönen Grillplatz abgelegen. Die Besitzer sind sehr sehr gnädig einen späten Check-out für uns zu erlauben. Wenn wir könnten wir lieben, bald wieder zu kommen !!

Great location for a quiet and comfy stay- close to Paia and Haiku for restaurants and close to Hookipa for famous turtles and windsurfers/kitesurfers spots! you will need a car thought- very good location also to drive the famous road to Hana! the place is simple but has everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
