“National Mall is a very classy mall. A lot of trendy and high end brand stores will be found there. There are always events going on in D.C. so be sure to leave early in case parking garage is full.”

Science Museum
“This is a great place for families. A favorite visiting as a kid and it still gets me. All of the neat aviation engines and aircraft are pretty cool. And as an adult, they have some great showings on the IMAX theater inside. ”

Zoo
“Free, vast, and always full of furry (sometimes scale-y) friends. The address shows this as on Connecticut Avenue, but the closest entrance to our spot is down Kenyon at. About a half mile west.”

“This is one of my favorite places in the city! It houses some of the best + local food vendors in DC. It's also a really cool spot to just grab a drink and hang out outside. It's super family friendly, so if you have kids, I definately recommend going here! The Oyster bar is amazing in here + the ramen is a must! Honestly, it's all great! ”

Capitol Building
“I haven't gotten a chance to take the tour of the US Capitol building but I've been told by everyone who has gone on it that it is awesome and better than the short one you get if you are able to get a tour of the Executive Mansion (The White House). The outside grounds are pretty.”

Library
“ Not sure why it is being labeled as a library, but getting into the White House is only accessible through tours, which can be registered for online. However, if visitors would like to see the president’s residence from the outside, then it’s an easy walk down Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 15th St. NW and 17th St. NW. There, parties can take pictures with the White House in the backdrop and scream obscenities at, or praises for, Trump through the fence! ”

“My weekend brunch spot (and probably everyone else’s in DC)! Great place to enjoy traditional French dishes in an almost perfect replica of a Parisian cafe! My personal favorites are the burger (if you haven’t experienced a French burger this is a must), chicken sandwich and fluffy pancakes. Pro Tip: Order a single pancake and the dish of your choice. It’s less expensive and you can try other items!”

Tennis Court
“Nature and outdoor enthusiasts will love Rock Creek Park, a forrest-y enclave in the middle of DC. Those looking to pursue outdoor activities can hike, walk, bike, go horseback riding, play gold or tennis, and enjoy a picnic. ”

Music Venue

“The 9:30 club doesn't look like much but it's a historic and intimate music venue that also owns the brand new The Anthem at the Wharf. It's a venue with beautiful sounds, a little divey, and an intimate setting to see any band. Definitely check out a live show here if you get the chance. Check out the specific shows for age limitations, if any, at shows. It's also just off of the U-Street corridor which is a popular spot for bars, clubs, and restaurants that can very VERY lively. ”

Baseball Stadium
“This ball park is a short train ride from the house. You can even walk to the train station from the house, although I recommend you drive if planning on coming home late. This train also goes into DC proper, Philadelphia and New York. ”

Art Museum
“This is one of my favorite museums. Located in Chinatown and easily accessible off the Chinatown Metro, this is a Smithsonian museum that is free to go to with thousands of portraits and landscapes from different times and different subjects with a regular turnover of exhibits. There is something new to see every time you go. ”
