“The hub of downtown that is steeped in history .. once called the "Slave Market" as it was where the ships came in and sold humans as slaves. Now home to local flavors, arts, and crafts. A must see for anyone visiting Charleston and a great place to ask locals about the hot spots. Plenty of touring companies in the area and also where you will find the carriage tours. ”

“Step back in time when you tour the grounds and home of this antebellum era plantation. Stroll the avenue of oaks and step inside the colonial revival home and slave cabins. It is one of America’s oldest working plantations, still producing crops. Their fresh fruits and vegetables, along with other locally produced items, can be purchased across Hwy 17 at Boone Hall Farms Market.”

“The start of the Civil War. A cool ferry ride to an hour self guided state park, PArk Rangers are very knowledgeable, the fort itself, has not be restored, so expect to see the "ruins" of the fort. Great tip ---- Take the 1st boat of the day out and Help raise the 10x20Ft American Flag on the Fort. Boats leave from Downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant by The USS Yorktown complex .”
