“5 minutes of walk from home. You can visit the Castle also inside with or without guide. In ancient times, in case of danger of siege to the Vatican the popes took refuge in the castle through the passage called "Passetto". The "Passetto is about 800 meters long, you can see it right next to home and if you visit inside the Castle, you can walk on it.”

“The Academy was built in the 1784 when the Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo reorganized the Academy of the Arts of Design, founded in 1563 by Cosimo I de'Medici, in the modern Academy of Fine Arts. The new institution occupied the rooms of the fourteenth century of San Matteo Hospital and those of the convent of San Niccolò di Cafaggio. The museum was enriched with the suppression of churches and convents ordered by Pietro Leopoldo in 1786 and by Napoleone Bonaparte in 1810. The decisive event in the history of the museum was the transfer of Michelangelo's David from Piazza della Signoria in August 1873. The most famous sculpture in the world waited nine years, kept in a wooden case, the conclusion of the construction of the Tribune designed by the architect Emilio De Fabris to welcome it. Today's Academy Gallery was established in 1882.”

“Purchased in 1550 by Cosimo I de Medici and by his wife Eleonora of Toledo to transform it into the new grand-ducal residence, Palazzo Pitti soon became the symbol of the consolidated power of the Medici over Tuscany. Palace of two other dynasties, the Habsburg-Lorraine (successors of the Medici from 1737) and of the Savoys, who inhabited it as royal of Italy since 1865, Palazzo Pitti still bears the name of its first owner, the Florentine banker Luca Pitti, who in the mid-fifteenth century wanted to build it - perhaps designed by Brunelleschi - beyond the Arno, at the foot of the Boboli hill.”

“Florence's town hall is a very special one. Once the home of the Medici family, it's located right next to the Uffizi gallery and for this reason way too many people skip it :( From the quotes from Dante's Inferno engraved in the courtyard to the delicate 'grottesche' paintings on the ceilings, there are so many cool things to find in this ancient building that remains at the heart of Florence's political scene. Did you know there's even a secret passage in the maps room? I won't tell you where it is... but if you look close I'm sure you can find it!”

“The most fascinating itinerary in the subsoil of Naples Napoli Sotterranea is a must in Naples. A substratum rich in history and linked to the rediscovery of a rare, if not unique, heritage. Works of great civil engineering, left long abandoned and today recovered to new life thanks to the wise work of Underground Naples. Indescribable beauties and suggestive places to be discovered. Taking part in the excursion means making a journey through history over 2400 years, from the Greek to the modern era, 40 meters deep between tunnels and cisterns. During the excursion, in addition to admiring the remains of the ancient Greek-Roman aqueduct and the anti-aircraft shelters of the Second World War, we will visit the War Museum, the Orti Ipogei (www.ortipogei.it), the Seismic Station "Arianna" and much more. Finally, it will be possible to visit for free the remains of the ancient Greek-Roman Theater, accessible from a private property.”

“Pompeii (/pɒmˈpeɪi/) was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Volcanic ash typically buried inhabitants who did not escape the lethal effects of the earthquake and eruption. Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site status and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy, with approximately 2.5 million visitors every year.”

“Piazza Venezia is located at the foot of the Capitol, where the most important streets of the capital intersect, as Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via del Corso. The Vittoriano stands out, a colossal monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, also called the Altar of the Fatherland. Many are the historical palaces in the square. It is possible to go up to the panoramic terrace of the Vittoriano.”

“In the splendid 19th-century Cosmacendi Palace near Zadar's waterfront, the excellent Museum of Ancient Glass is home to one of Europe's largest collections of antique glass artifacts. Among its many highlights are numerous rare Roman jars, goblets, and vials found during decades of archaeological digs in the Dalmatia region of Croatia. ”
