Stay at this private studio mother-in-law's apartment in the lower level of a restored 1901 Washington, DC rowhouse in the vibrant Columbia Heights neighborhood. This bright studio is walking distance to 11th St's many restaurants, including the nation's #2 best new restaurant according to Bon Appetit magazine. Hop on the metro to visit museums & famous memorials. It's 10 minutes walking to 2 metro stations & just steps away from the hottest restaurants & craft cocktail bars at 14th & U Streets.
There's everything you'll need for a relaxed visit to the nation's capital. With a spacious living area, this apartment can accommodate up to two people, with a comfy double bed and a couch that folds down into a single bed.
Store your leftovers in the mini fridge and microwave to heat them back up later, before sitting down to a fine meal. (Don't bother cooking your own meals, as this space does not have a full kitchen. But why would you when there are such wonderful restaurants at your fingertips?)
In the morning, use the Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee maker or electric kettle and make a cuppa to help you wake up -- or, head to one of the many nearby coffee shops such as The Coupe, Harrar, or Colony Club.
Hop on the Metro or rent a Capital Bikeshare bike and go to the National Mall to see priceless art, epic monuments, and historic artifacts. After a busy day site-seeing, unwind by watching TV and enjoying access to Hulu, Netflix, or Chromecast anything you'd like from your device to the 32" TV.
Finally, relax with a hot shower in the private bathroom before crashing back to sleep.

Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
This is studio apartment is on the lower level of our row house. We live on the upper levels, along with our small dog, so you may hear us from time to time. We follow "quiet hours" between 10:30 pm and 7:30 am to ensure everyone gets a good night's sleep.
This studio does NOT have a full kitchen, but DOES have what you'll need to reheat leftovers and store some snacks during your stay.
Street parking is available if you have a car, however we recommend using public transportation because parking in DC is incredibly challenging.
Recently construction on some new townhouses has begun across the street from my house. It can be noisy during the day. I have provided ear plugs to ensure it doesn't wake you up if you are a light or late sleeper.
If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to email or text!
- While this studio does have a microwave, mini-fridge, electric kettle, and coffee machine, it does NOT have a full kitchen. So please do not anticipate cooking a meal, as the space does not have an oven, stove, pots/pans, or dishwasher.
- Please do not adjust the thermostat, as it controls the heating for the entire house.
- Absolutely no smoking or parties. Quiet time is between 11 pm and 7 am.
Above all else, treat our home as if you were staying at a friend's!
After several years as a guest, traveling from Portland, Oregon to Paris, France, I'm a new Airbnb host! Originally from Kansas City, I've lived in Washington, DC for about 10 years. I can't wait to share this incredible city with you!
My idea of a perfect weekend in DC is to start the day with a latte at a neighborhood coffee shop, and visit some of the city's famous museums and galleries. Then hit the used bookstore and nearby vintage clothing shop, order Instagram-worthy meals at the city's hottest restaurants, and top if off with a glass at the neighborhood wine bar.
Check out my listing to stay in an up-and-coming area with top-notch restaurants and bars within a few minutes' walk.
