Right on Lake Champlin with 40' of dock, and within walking distance to historic Mt. Independence, this 1870's restored house has Spectacular views and good biking. 3 kayaks to use and explore the lake or just sit on the back deck and relax.
Open from Memorial day weekend thru October. This is a restored mansard style Victorian house with original hardwood floors and doors. Up stairs the Master bedroom has a 4" memory foam topped queen mattress. 2nd bedroom has queen bed. 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds. Living room has queen pull out bed. Sun room has 2 twin day beds or couches if you prefer and small breakfast table. I generally eat all my meals in sun room when staying. Dining room seats 8 comfortably. Kitchen has gas range. There is a grill and table on back deck. Or you could always just enjoy the adirondack chairs on lower deck closer to the lake. Steps lead down to the lake. We are located on a dead end road that leads to a marina and state park. Not a lot of traffic. Beautiful views in all directions. Our area of Lake Champlain is better for kayaking then swimming but I still swim. I do supply 3 kayaks for you to use.

This is Lake Champlain, bring bug repellent. Lake Champlain does not always have the best swimming, it depends on the time of year and the rain fall. I use it mainly for kayaking and relaxing peaceful by the water.
We also just installed a new water filter system. There is no AC but every room has a fan and there is always a constant breeze off the water. The house cools off nicely at night.
Please treat my house with respect. We love it too and stay there through out the year. This allows me to see what is needed or what needs repair.
Please unmake any beds that are slept in and leave the sheets in a pile on the floor. Kitchen should be left clean and dishwasher running. Any extra trash can go out side by front of garage. Recycle too.
Extra trash bags are in box on floor in hall by back door.
No smoking in house ever.

I moved to Orwell, VT full time in 2009 from Alpharetta, GA to peruse art full time. I currently teach pottery out of my studio that is located at Stratford House Pottery and at Middlebury Studio School (Old Frog Hollow) in Middlebury, VT. I sell pottery in many gift shops and galleries around the US including my own gallery. I moved to Vermont to pursue a simpler more relaxed life and to get away from the congestion of metro Atlanta.
One of my favorite things is to sit in my adirondack chair at lunch, looking out over a freshly hayed field, with the sun on my face, my dog at my side and the view of the town roof tops in the distance.
