1 suite with a full-sized bed with soft cotton sheets, private bath and AC in Villa Davila, a spacious mid-modern century home with living room, dining room, full kitchen and patio near the University and next to Piñero (17) and Muñoz Rivera Avenues.
The suite has a full-sized with soft gazillion-thread count sheets and memory-foam pillows. You also get a partially empty closet (it may or may not be a vinyl record storage) and you’ll be surrounded by art and items collected on my travels. The private bathroom is cute and has a soothing rain shower. The suite is fully air conditioned, has wi-fi, comes with hairdryer, a set of bath and beach towels and sleeps a maximum of two people. Street parking is always available, but please never leave anything of value inside and park at your own risk.
Villa Davila is a 1949 mid modern century architectural jewel in the heart of Rio Piedras that has been remodeled and thoughtfully decorated with love to preserve its original beauty while bringing it up to today’s comfort standards. The common areas are gorgeous, homey and full of vintage furniture and collectibles that each tell a story. The patio is sunny, green, intimate and, at night, full of the sweet sounds of the coquís (tiny native frogs) populating the plants.
I have one cat (Zeus) but I’m OCD in my cleanliness so the space is totally door free (and believe you me, I’ve asked people just to be sure). Oh, and he never goes into the guest suite so it is cat-free.
Use the space to relax or as a starting point to explore all that the Island has to offer. I always recommend renting a car as public transportation is very unreliable.
These are some of the positive references left by previous guests on couchsurfing: "his house is as beautiful as he is welcoming”, "I felt totally comfortable and safe in his gorgeous home. I totally miss the little chirping birds in the backyard at night time”, "you can be sure that every single detail is perfectly taken care of!”, “definitely outstanding regarding his feeling for art, style and the things which inspire him. He was a perfect host and I enjoyed a lot the time in his house”, "The accommodations are awesome, centrally located, quiet and easy to get to”, "a very beautiful house, clean and comfortable”, "had such a lovely time in your beautiful, clean, organized, environmentally sustainable :), warm home”, etc., etc. and more etceteras :D

You will receive codes to get in and out of the house at your convenience, just try to keep the 2 cats from leaving the house. They're VERY easy going and I have treats to lure them back ;)

I will make your stay is comfortable and fun so that you can slow clap with satisfaction as you leave for home. If time allows, I'll try to personally welcome guests and give them a quick overview of the home and surroundings. I’ve been hosting couchsurfers for years, know my Island well and I’m well connected with art and cultural happenings to point you in the right direction.
I live a very busy life so you’ll have the house to yourself most of the time. Given that I’ll be sharing my lovely space with you, I will only accept travelers with good reviews.

I got a great education; moved to New York City; became a boring investment banker (meanwhile I released stress by writing satire on the side); got burned out with work; took off to South America for a year; returned to Puerto Rico to be near my family; decided I needed to get to know my own Island, so I bicycled around it for a month; did some consulting work; got itchy again; and decided to buy a motorcycle in California (that was the farthest one I could find) as an excuse to travel for 40 days across the United States. Now I develop video programming for a large media company. Oh, I am also a pretty cool cat...
…...gentleman [yep, I have a cat].
