It's Autumn, and after a summer of hosting family and friends, our wonderful self-contained cottage is once again available to those who are looking for something unusual and special. Tucked out of sight from the street within our walled garden, it offers spacious accommodation and extraordinary peace for such a very central location. There is no other airbnb listing like it in Bristol. Please note the weekly and monthly discounts we offer.
The cottage is detached from our house and started life as accommodation and storage for the market garden which originally occupied this site. Over two storeys, measuring around 60sqmetres, it is a spacious, comfortable and attractive place to stay overlooking the garden. To the back of the cottage is a no-through road and so it really is very peaceful here which is surprising considering how lively it is 'out there'! Once inside the back door you will find it hard to think you're in the middle of a thriving city.
Downstairs, the living room/kitchen is decorated with mid-20thcentury furniture and colour schemes, with large floor to ceiling glass windows. It is peaceful and calm in here, looking out onto the garden.
The kitchen area has a sink, integrated fridge, Miele induction hob, toaster, kettle, and combination microwave oven. The lovely 1950s drop leaf formica table is perfect for those who want to eat from something a little higher than the coffee table. It's also been used as a desk, artist's painting surface and make-up table before a wedding!
Upstairs is the spacious and elegant bedroom with full-height sloping ceilings. The room has lovely antique furniture, not least the extremely comfortable king-size bed made up with organic cotton bedlinen. The bed has been extended making it 2metres long, so that even our tallest guests can stretch out in comfort.
There is an ironing board, iron and hairdryer.
Next door is the bathroom and toilet with a walk-in shower, hot water on demand and big luxurious towels. The windows look out over the garden.
Toegang voor gasten

We both work a flexible timetable and so we're not always around during the day. However, whenever we are here we'd be delighted to answer any queries you may have or offer you tips about restaurants, places to visit and that sort of thing. Never feel shy about knocking on the door. However, we're just as happy to leave you in total peace if that's what you prefer.
Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
We have a couple of non-shedding dogs (for those of you with allergies) but they are not allowed in the cottage.
There's lots of room for bicycles outside the cottage in the garden.
We live in an area with parking restrictions between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, but pay and display tickets are available on the street.
No-one is to stay overnight unless they are booked in. You're welcome to have up to 3 visitors at a time but we would like them to have left by 11pm.
Please don't smoke or vape inside.
Please don't make lots of noise if coming and going late at night.
Babes in arms welcome, but please note we have no baby kit here.
Regretfully no pets allowed.
I've lived in Bristol for 29 years, but my husband Ben and our 3 boys were all born here. We have been renting out the cottage since November 2015 and have really enjoyed the mix of people who have stayed here. We have had some very warm encounters and have appreciated the opportunity to meet wonderful people from a wide variety of countries around the world.
We have a particular love for Spain, and return time and time again to the mountains of Asturias. We remain, however, very interested in our home city and are actively involved in ensuring Bristol remains the great place it is to live. It is a place of hugely diverse cultural influences, built around rivers and hills and surrounded by wonderful countryside. We have a couple of dogs, and work within biking distance of the house, but although pretty active, we're happy to sit in front of the fire with a good boxset!
We love gardening and feel extremely lucky to have such a great green space bang in the centre of town. Ben's a great cook, and I enjoy baking. And we like to take advantage of the wide variety of entertainment there is on offer here.
With your own key you're able to come and go as you please, and we would be delighted to answer any questions you may have while you're here, and to make recommendations.
