Exclusive glamping in the heart of Wiltshire. This site, comprising of four bell tents in a four acre field on an established alpaca farm, offers a unique experience both secluded in nature and fully equipped. As well as visiting the alpacas and learning about life on the farm, you can enjoy walking and cycling in the surrounding countryside, visiting the nearby National Trust village of Lacock or exploring the Georgian city of Bath. Jane and David will greet you and show you to your tent.

De ruimte
You will have one of the four spacious 6 metres canvas bell tents named after a wiltshire bird. Your tent Sparrowhawk, is fully equipped so you don’t have to bring a thing. You’ll have a fully made up double bed with sprung mattress, and two single futon beds [the tent will comfortably sleep four]. A log burner is installed to keep you warm on cool evenings, while a selection of throws rugs and cushions add to the cosy atmosphere. Your tent is allocated a private composting toilet and there are two shared gas powered hot showers. Outside, you can relax in the deck chairs provided, cook your meals over the fire pit or use the camping gas stoves allocated to your tent, and enjoy time together at the picnic tables. Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses are provided along with a cool box for food storage, and a washing up trough with running water.

We encourage an eco-friendly ethos; you will be provided with environmentally products and waste-cycling facilities. Our own home uses a ground source heating and a bio-digester.

Easy private parking, close to the glamping site

The beautiful National Trust village of Lacock is 3 minutes by car. The village has hosted many costume dramas and films such as Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, Cranford and many more. Places to eat and drink abound.
The World Heritage City of Bath is known for its Roman Baths, Georgian architecture and the beautiful 7th century Abbey in the heart of the city. There is much to do and see in Bath; great eateries, the Theatre Royal with West End performances, museums & galleries. Tours run very frequently. Bath is 40 mins by car or 15 mins by train from Chippenham station. The town of Bradford-on-Avon 20 mins, the village of Castle Combe was voted one of the prettiest in England 20 mins, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge 40 mins, the beautiful neolithic stones of Avebury 30 mins, Bowood House 10 mins, with its many amenities for children and adults. Corsham Court landscaped gardens designed by the famous Capability Brown 15 mins, Longleat Safari Park and home to the Marquess of Bath 35 mins - to name a few of the most beautiful places to visit in our part of Wiltshire.

LacockAlpaca is a small, friendly farm run by Jane Gardner-Turrell and David Turrell, and is home to a wonderful herd of 29 alpacas. On retiring in 2014, after over 40 years each in leadership in education, these endearing creatures caught our imagination. We bought Oakley Farm, and, with the help of a nearby alpaca breeder, we embarked on our alpaca journey. We have always been committed to nature and our natural environment, and believe that we are all custodians of our countryside. Having inquisitive, beautiful and intelligent creatures to love and care for on this land is a great joy, which we love to share with others. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, or to just talk all things alpaca! We have lived and travelled in many parts of the world and we love to have people around us and to share what we can.
