De ruimte
Everly's Hideout, unspoiled luxury in a wilderness setting, is newly renovated & fully equipped for your vacationing pleasure. It even has a dishwasher! Perched on a hillside above Idabel Lake with gorgeous lake views it is a perfect couple's retreat, but also great for a family holiday.
This vacation spot is full service including high quality beds & linens, satellite WiFi & Netflix year round. There are two bedroom areas in the loft with privacy sight wise but not noise wise. Each bedroom has a convenient desk area. Come experience BC wilderness with all the comforts.

The cottage is located in Idabel Lake Resort which offers a beach, swimming area, the "Jolly Roger" children's dock, canoes and row boat, games room and playground.

The whole cabin is yours

I am available for questions anytime using the AirBnB messaging system or by text. Our cleaning people are located right at Idabel Lake and I can contact them if you have a maintenance concern. We are often in Kelowna as well so can be available. The resort has a local caretaker named Todd available on site at Idabel Lake.

Everly's Hideout is located in a small grouping of privately owned cabins and lodge units called Idabel Lake Resort. Idabel Lake is a small wilderness community on the lake that is about 1/2 hour drive from Kelowna. It is an awesome year round getaway from the city, quiet and serene. In the winter, the lake is frozen and you can snowmobile, skate and cross country ski on it (depending on conditions of course).
In the summer there is great hiking in the mountains and to other nearby lakes. It is close to the trans Canada bike trail so mountain biking is a favorite activity in the area. Canoes and row boats are included with the rentals or bring your own kayaks. The swimming is lovely, a bit cool, but great on those hot summer days.
Idabel Lake is about a 10 minute drive past the Big White turnoff when heading from Kelowna towards Beaverdell. You turn right off highway 33 about 3 km past the Big White turn (to the left). You will see the signs for Idabel Lake Resort and the road is called McCullough Road where you turn right off the highway. At the next intersection you turn left and travel about 4 km until you see the sign to turn right for Idabel Lake Road (FYI if you continue straight on McCullough Road you come to Kelowna cross country ski club trails).
There is a games room in the lodge with a telephone should you need it. Cell phones do not work at Idabel Lake, but you can use WiFi to receive text messages and emails if your phone has that capability.
The resort is actually a bigger lodge with several units, a duplex and 8 cabins each privately owned. The name "resort" is a bit misleading :).
There are no grocery stores or restaurants at Idabel Lake, so you will want to have supplies with you. There are lots of restaurants at Big White or in Kelowna. When you drive to Big White base, the gondola is free to get to the village where there are awesome restaurants in the winter and some even open in the summer.
The drive from the cabin to the Gem Lake Express Quad at Big White is a quick 20 minute drive. There is also a small lodge and bistro there at the base of the Gem Lake Ski lift.
We hope you will enjoy this wilderness treasure!

Idabel Lake is 6 km from Highway 33. The road off the highway is not paved but is plowed in the winter. You will need a car to get there and in winter, it is preferable to have a 4 x 4 or front wheel drive with good winter tires.

I am a person who loves God and traveling, enjoying meeting people, local history and natural beauty all around us. I grew up in the Kootenays, skiing Red Mountain and enjoying the beauty of Christina Lake in the summers. My husband Dan and I have a unique retirement plan, we rent everything, travel and virtually live at no permanent address (not at this point in time anyhow). We enjoy preparing the homes for rental, to make them as comfortable and well equipped as we can. Our vacation properties are named after our precious granddaughters: Casa de Perla in Loreto after our 1st granddaughter Pearl, Everly's Hideout at Idabel Lake after our 2nd granddaughter and Zoë's Lighthouse after our youngest granddaughter Zoë.
