Our Berghaus (mountain home) has an open floor plan with a great room, a light-filled dining area and a granite kitchen. It has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 newly remodeled baths and is a short drive to everything: TD amenities, ski areas, and Truckee town.
Holiday periods (Martin Luther King, President's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, July Fourth, Thanksgiving & Christmas): 3 night minimum applies.
This comfortable, contemporary home has just over 2000 square feet of living space -- perfect for up to 2 families. It has an upside down configuration where bedrooms are on the ground floor and the common areas plus master suite are on the second floor. This showcases views and light in places where you would most enjoy them.
Upstairs there is a spacious great room with a gas burning fireplace, which then opens up to a dining area with broad tree views, a granite kitchen and a south-facing deck.
There are 3 bedrooms with queen beds in each, plus 3 twin beds in one of the bedrooms downstairs. The sectional in the living room also opens up to a queen sleeper.
The 2.5 bathrooms were recently updated with gorgeous custom vanities, tile floors, and glass shower enclosures.
House amenities include WiFi access, a flat screen cable TV with DVD player, and a handful of family-friendly DVDs. Guests with children are invited to enjoy the selection of books, the fussball table and the many board games we keep at the house.
There is a two-car side by side garage.

You will be provided a lockbox code to open the front door. (Once inside, you will have access to the garage opener which is the most convenient way in/out of the house during your stay.)

We do our best to respond by phone or email within an hour during your stay. You will also be given the name and number of a local contact who can assist you in person in an emergency.

We do not allow pets. However, guests with pet dander allergies should note that our family has a "less allergenic" dog (Bernese Mountain Dog/ Goldendoodle mix) who spends time in the house with us.
We keep this home strictly smoke-free.
We ask that you remove soiled or wet shoes/boots before entering the carpeted areas of the main house. Once you have access to the garage opener, you will find it easiest to come in and out of the garage and utilize the mudroom for removing footwear. Thank you.
No pets. No smoking. No shoes inside the house, please.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Complete arrival and departure instructions are printed in a "Berghaus" house binder found on the kitchen counter.
Generally speaking, when you arrive, the heat and water will be turned on and the beds will be made. You are welcome to warm up the house further by turning on the gas fireplace. You are also welcome to help yourself to the sheets and towels in the linen closet.
We stock our kitchen with the basics and you are welcome to use the items in the fridge and cabinets during your stay. (The items in the freezer are for our family's use only, please.) We ask that if you simply replace any items you use up.
Upon departure, we ask that you follow several important steps listed in the house binder, such as running the dishwasher, stripping the beds, washing towels, removing perishables and trash, returning the guest passes, house key and garage opener, and closing/locking windows and doors.
There are some parking restrictions. No parking is allowed on any roadway between November 1st and May 15th. Cars parked on the road during this period will be ticketed and/or towed. You may park in the garage as well as on the side of the driveway. In the winter, parking in the garage is not only easier and more comfortable than parking in the driveway, but it guarantees access for the snowplows. If you need to park in the driveway, please pull over as far as possible to the upper right side of the driveway to leave room for snowplowing.
Please note that our driveway has a slight initial pitch (2% grade) as you turn in from the road.
Our pricing includes a 12% Transient Occupancy Tax levied by the Town of Truckee. The tax has been included in the nightly rate and cleaning fee and will be added to any forfeited deposit.
