In my years of using Airbnb worldwide, I never had to write a negative review -but felt I owed this one to my fellow globetrotters. 1) Failed pick-up: The host organized our pickup at the airport, but his driver never showed up - although our flight was on time. 2) Complicated checkin: I had to sign a contract. 3) Internet: I was given a wrong password (missing upper case). 4) Smoke in our balcony and apartment from the bakery downstairs: We had to leave the apartment with headaches after 3 nights there (originally booked 7 nights). 5) Money back: The host offered to pay us back the remaining 4 nights but wanted us to cancel the reservation first. After double checking with Airbnb, it turned out that the common practice required us not to cancel our reservation - but to change it - which we did. We got our money back.

I will not write an answer to Mr. Frank in personal. I will write my answers to show that, how can a guest write a "One sided" review. so i please all the guests, please read the review first, and then see my answer, which are 100% true and can be confirmed with proofs upon request. 1) The guest asked us airport pickup and we arranged. And then he took a taxi to come here with the reason that "Nobody was waiting for me". When i believe my guest and send message to the transfer company, they sent me the airport camera records which shows the driver was there with the name, and Mr. Frank passed near him without looking, and waiting in the middle of the airport (Where no drivers are waiting), and 2 minutes later he went outside to took a taxi. And i had to pay to the driver because they were there. And the guest denied to pay. I text him to come and see the camera records, but he shouted at me "I was there and driver was not here", and never came. Also, he never called the driver or never called us even i gave the drivers and also my number to him. 2) In any airbnb listings, if you do not sign a contract and do not present your passport, it means you are staying in an illegal apartment, without tax, without records. We are recorded in government, and tax office. We are legal airbnb apartment. 3) Our internet password is same for 3 years. And it is impossible to be given wrong password. First letter is capital, sometimes guests tries without capital letter, that’s the reason, as you saw when you are connected. 4) We have a bakery down the building, and when the guest come us to complain about the smoke, we called the bakery, and they said they had too many woods in their basement, and they burned the woods in the oven to open space and smoke came from there. They always use natural gas. They just did it 1 day, but i could not understand how our guest had that problem for 3 nights. And since the bakery said this will go un until 23:00, we offered our guest "Free cancellation". And we kept our promise. 5) There are 2 ways to shorten the period. First one, changing the dates, second one cancellation. The guest pleased to leave at 14:00 for the free cancellation (Which means the apartment can be ready around 15:30 after cleaning). When the guest shorten the period with cancellation, we can show the next guest "The reservation is cancelled, we are cleaning it", and we have reason for "Late checkin". But when the guest shorten the period with changing the dates, and when we press "accept", it means, the apartment should be ready and clean at 14:00, and we receive penalty if a guest make a last minute booking and come here. That’s why we pleased him to cancel the reservation but he never did it, and left the apartment after 14:15, and we had to press "Accept" button around 16:00 when the apartment ready. And of course, after that time, no one booked the apartment, and he caused loss for our business even we were always doing our best. And of course he get his money back, our promise is our honour.

We really enjoyed our time in Istanbul. People are nice. We even got to go to the stadium to watch a local soccer match and got good sits for a really cheap price. Güner was awesome since the very first time I contacted him. Messages are responded almost immediately, we were provided with all the assistance we needed, like info about transport, where to get food, or stuff like that. We didn't expect to arrive so late but unfortunately it took us more than expected but still, someone was there waiting for us... Very kind.

This was a pleasing stay with a very cool balcony and seating area. Everything you need is right there in the apartment-style flat (including a washer and soap to use it)! The staff was friendly and great to work with. There was a problem with the A/C dripping and we told them the next morning. Had we stayed longer than one night, I'm certain we would have seen this problem resolved right away. Very trustworthy staff and easy check-in and check-out. 10/10 would recommend and would stay again.

Guner and his staff were wonderful--very responsive and helpful with everything from details on the apartment and the neighborhood, to travel logistics outside of Istanbul. The apartment is perfect--clean, comfortable, and with great wifi, towels, and appliances, including a washing machine. There is a wonderful bakery and fruit grocery just outside the front door. The apartment is also incredibly conveniently located to Istiklal street (bars, restaurants, shopping), including tram, metro, and tunel to get anywhere in the city. One word of advice, however: we suggest taking a taxi instead of walking back if it's late at night; the neighborhood is not the best at that time. Otherwise, it was fabulous.

хорошая квартира для нескольких ночей в Стамбуле . расположение хорошее все в пешей доступности. до башни Галата минут 10 спокойным шагам, так же как и до метро Таксим . рекомендую. мне только показалось немного дороговато . a good apartment for a few nights in Istanbul. good location all within walking distance. Galata Tower 10 minutes calm steps, as well as to the taxi meter. I recommend. I just seemed a bit expensive.

The apartment was exactly as in the photos, with a nice little terrace which is very rare for the center of Istanbul. Everything was clean and fancy. The neighborhood is quiet in that area, the noise is more in Taksim square which is approx 8-10 min away by foot. Very close to the main attractions. The host was helpful and nice

She was born in Düsseldorf and come to Istanbul while she was a baby. She graduated from Istanbul University in 2005 and she is working in Citibank Credits Department with her 8 years experience.

She is designer of our concepts. We won creativity award in 2012 thanks to her :) She chooses all the furniture and fixture, pictures on the wall, colors of the wall, carpets, curtains etc. If you have any suggestions about the visual issues, she will consider every single one :)
