Many people have commented upon the apartment being small, but we did not understand quite how small it is. The main room houses a double bed against one wall, at the foot of which is a space no larger than 1.5 metres before you reach the kitchen units, against the wall opposite the head of the bed. Into that 1.5 metres space fits a table on castors and two bar seats. To the right of the bed is a bedside table which meets the side wall, where the only window is housed. To the left of the bed is an empty space no larger than 1 metre. The entrance to the bathroom, a wardrobe and the door into the apartment are on the other side wall, opposite the wall with the window. The bathroom itself is housed under the staircase of the hallway from the main door into the building, leading to more apartments upstairs. There is a toilet, a shower and shower curtain, above a square metre shower tray, and a small sink in the bathroom. There is a microwave, an induction hob and a small refrigerator. The crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans are enough for two people and there is a small mocha pot. Please note, there is no running hot water neither in the kitchen, nor in the bathroom. Also, there is not a kettle. However, the apartment is easily accessed from the railway station, without having to manage many steps. It is right in the centre of Vernazza, where there are many restaurants and shops. The railway station offers a variety of hop on, hop off tickets for access to the whole of Cinque Terre which are undeniably quaint and beautiful. All of this said, wherever you choose to stay, you will always be in a small apartment because tiny is the very essence of Cinque Terre, as is accesibility via steps and slopes.
