In the heart of Tuscany and Chianti, on "Via Francigena", which runs through the city, purchased by my grandfather in 1923 was the residence of my family for almost a century. In this house I was born and my father was born too. The apartment is in a building built in 1901, in the Art Nouveau period (Liberty). The construction techniques that provide arches, vaults and barrel vaults are today unrepeatable, no more workers are able to do this type of construction without the use of cement. Currently (February 2016) I just finished a major refurbishment of the entire apartment respecting the historical construction period with proper fittings and furniture. The apartment has two large bedrooms, one with a double bed (Pink Room) and one with twin beds (Yellow Room) each one with its own bathroom. You will find clean sheets and towels included in the accessories of the house. The common areas include a living room with a fireplace and a large sofa (convertible into a comfortable double bed) and two armchairs. A large kitchen with stove and four burners, refrigerator, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen equipment includes plates, dishes, pots, pans, containers and everything needed for cooking. There are also an electric kettle and a drip coffee maker, in addition to Moka inevitable. Within 50 meters from the house you can find local restaurants, pizzerie or every kind of food to cook or ready to eat. Casa Cavour is ideal to use as a base not only for visiting Siena, you can reach the entrance of the historic center (Porta Camollia) in a 10 minute walk, but also as an ideal base to visit visit the heart of Tuscany, the most characteristic and suggestive: Florence is just 50 km of free motorway. The parking for your car is free, one in front and one behind the house with lot of space available. The railway station is just a 5-minute walk away and much of the path is facilitated by a long and comfortable escalator.
