We, my husband and myself, offer daysails on our vintage yacht out of Castine from the months of June till end of September. We will be between the house and the boat for most of your stay so please come and go as you would like and enjoy the space as though it were a stand alone house.
Andere dingen waar je op moet letten
The space is a back apartment connected to our house. There is a shared wall with our side of the house and a shared driveway. We do not have an outdoor table but we do provide a picnic bag and blanket if you wish to use the common space in the backyard or to take on a scenic picnic in Castine. The kitchen is stocked with the most basic of cooking ingredients such as salt, pepper, a few spices, and some cooking oil. If you are planning on preparing meals we recommend provisioning what you may need in either Bucksport or Blue Hill, the two closest towns with grocery stores.
Acadia National Park is about an hour to an hour and a half drive away. It is a great place to stay if you want to visit Acadia without staying on Mount Desert Island but the location is most convenient to those wanting the travel the Blue Hill Peninsula, Deer Isle, and Castine.
Hi, Welcome to Castine. My husband and I have run a day-sail business aboard our vintage yacht in Castine for several years now and have lived on our boat for many of those years. We moved ashore after our son was born and have just started to offer our apartment, connected to our house, as a rental. Before living full time ashore in Castine we were working aboard many vessels around the world including taking students through the Caribbean on a schooner, delivering cargo in the South Pacific, and working with inner city students in Los Angeles aboard an 120' vessel. After traveling extensively we have found Castine to be a perfect place to settle. We look forward to sharing all we know about the area and hope you can enjoy the quietness of Castine as much as we do.
