An immaculately presented barn conversion that offers peace, quiet & tranquility yet only a short drive from the historic & bustling town of Whitby.
Set in a beautiful location & nestled in the National Park, there is direct access to bridlepaths which lead to footpaths & forestry tracks. Ideally based for walkers, cyclists & those seeking a rural retreat. A short drive leads to stunning coastlines such as Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby with it's beautiful Abbey & the seaside town of Scarborough.
Woodpeckers Cottage is a modern barn conversion that sits within the boundaries of Silpho Brow Cottage, it has views of the sea, open countryside and forest. It offers near level access with ample parking space. There is immediate access to bridleways from the private drive and these lead to many other footpaths and forest tracks.
The cottage has solid oak floors and is immaculately clean, which means that those guests who do not have pets can be reassured that they will not be aware of previous canine guests.
If we don't have other guests leaving/checking in, we will offer an early check in or a late check out, at no extra cost, wherever possible. This means that whenever possible, you can squeeze a little extra enjoyment out of the cottage and the local area.
A well behaved dog is also welcome (there may be a small additional charge)

True country lovers, David & I have lived here for 17 years with our dogs, cat and horses. We walk and ride the different footpaths and bridleways everyday and know the area well. We will happily point you in the right direction for whatever kind of walk you would like e.g. wooded, coastal or scenic and you are welcome to borrow an ordnance survey map to keep you on the right track. I love baking, bread making and also make jams with wild bilberries, wild raspberries and blackberries too. Whenever possible I bake a little welcome gift for our guests.
We feel very privileged that we can share these beautiful and special surroundings with our guests. From our reviews it seems our guests enjoy it too!
