Just 10 minutes from Waterford Greenway, bike hire is available on the Greenway or bikes can be delivered to our B&B. If you are walking the Greenway and wish to be picked up from the Kilmacthomas or Durrow area this can be organised by prior arrangement.

Enjoy a stroll on the beach
Our self catering accommodation is located approx. one kilometre from the village of Bunmahon. It is an ideal base to from which explore Waterford's Copper Coast.
The Copper Coast Geopark Centre is located at the old Knockmahon Church which has been renovated and extended. Drop in for a cup of tea. View films of the Miners of the Copper Coast and get information on the geology, history and heritage of the area. Trail cards are available for the walking trails in the area. See (Website hidden by Airbnb) further information. The Geogarden in the village gives a timeline of the earth's geological history. Enjoy the lovely sandy beach which has lifeguards on duty during July and August.
Young children will be delighted with the children's playground. There is also an outdoor gym and multipurpose court for the older age groups. A monument to the oldest person to die on the Titanic has been erected in Bonmahon; this is in memory of Frank Dwan who was a native of the area.
A pleasant walk from Bunmahon is a visit to Faugheen Church, also known as Ballyristeen. The graveyard has some unique headstones, some of which tell a story. Mass is celebrated on the Friday after the 15th of August each year, a tradition dating back over 150 years. A survey of the monuments in this historical graveyard was undertaken by the Copper Coast Geopark under the Metal Links Project in 2012 and a photographic book was produced.
Heading along the coast road going east towards Tramore is the Tankardstown Engine House, one of the symbols of the Copper Coast. Multi lingual Information boards tell the history of copper and mining in the area.
County Waterford

A visit to Waterford Co. Museum in Dungarvan is a must
Our self catering accommodation is located approx. one kilometre from the village of Bunmahon in mid Waterford. It is an ideal base to from which explore Waterford County & City.
Boatstrand is a pleasant harbour and is the location of the Sea Rescue Centre.
Annestown is a pretty village with a beautiful beach. Inland you can see Dunhill Castle which was the scene of a famous siege during the Cromwellian Wars. A podcast of the Annestown Heritage Trail can be downloaded from the Copper Coast Geopark website, this is a looped walk starting at Annestown Beach and taking you along the Anne Valley and past Dunhill Castle.
Dunhill Village has a thriving community and is home to Dunhill Eco Park and Multi Education Centre. Call in to Castle Cafe which is located in the Eco Park for refreshments.
The Anne Valley Walk follows the Anne River as it flows through the Anne Valley to reach Dunhill Castle.
Approx. 1 Km from Fenor is the Copper Coast Mini Farm and Copper Kettle Tea Rooms. Fenor is also the location for Fenor Bog which is a wetland conservation area with a raised boardwalk for a pleasant walk. The Copper Hen Restaurant is located in Fenor. Children will enjoy the playground.

Tramore is a very popular family resort, well known for its beautiful beach. There are lots of activities to be enjoyed, such as surfing, children's play areas, golf, golf driving range, splashworld. In summer the amusement park is open. For horse racing enthusiasts there is the well known Tramore Race Course.
From Bonmahon travelling west the first cove is Ballydowane which has a beautiful beach and is ideally suited for walking and sunbathing. It is very popular for fishing also.
Continuing on and taking a left turn you will come to Ballyvooney Cove, where the Cirolo Morus was wrecked in 1926.
Stradbally is a picturesque village and the local community work hard and can be very proud of their success in the Tidy Towns Competition over the years. The village won the Gold Medal in the Entente Florale Competition in 2002. The square with its sundial is particularly attractive. The pre reformation Church is being conserved and work is ongoing. The Barron Hall has been renovated to a very high standard in keeping with its heritage and is an excellent resource for the community. A short walk from the village is the beautiful Stradbally Cove. There is a looped walk from the village, distance of 4.6Km, which passes by Ballyvooney Cove. The children's playground is another amenity in the village.
Dungarvan is a thriving market town with lots to do from shopping to dining, with many interesting attractions. Waterford County Museum, based at The Old Town Hall in St. Augustine Street, recounts the history of the area. John's Castle is also of interest. A memorial to those who died in the First World War has been erected here. The Old Market House Arts Centre is one of Dungarvan's oldest buildings and hosts exhibitions by local, national and international artists. For golfing enthusiasts West Waterford Golf Club, Golf Coast Golf Club and Dungarvan Golf Club, all 18 holes, make up the Dungarvan Golf Triangle, with special offers for playing the three.
While in Dungarvan it is just a short drive to the Ring Gaeltacht and Helvick Head.
Cappoquin is located on the head of the Blackwater River Estuary. Nearby is the Cistercian Monastery at Mount Mellerary which was founded in 1832.
The Vee is a beautiful scenic drive through the Knockmealdown Mountains. Mitchelstown Caves is a short diversion from your route.
Lismore Heritage Town is well worth a visit. Popular attractions are Lismore Castle, Lismore Heritage Centre and St. Carthages Cathedral.
Ardmore lies to the west of the county and is famous for its 12th century Round Tower and also its monastic settlement founded by St. Declan. For those who like walking the Cliff Walk will be enjoyed.
The Nire Valley is also a very popular scenic route, an ideal area for walking and horse riding.
From Bonmahon, heading inland one will pass through Ballylaneen, the old Graveyard here is the final resting place of the Irish poet Tadhg Gaelic O'Suilleabhain.
Next is the village of Kilmacthomas where Flahavan's Porridge has been in the Flahavan Family for seven generations. A lovely walk along by the River Mahon has been developed.
The Comeragh Mountain Drive, with the scenic walk into the Mahon Falls is very popular. It is known for its "Magic Road".
