This house was completely renovated in 2015/2016. The furniture is antique, elegant, and sober. Former industrial site converted in the late 19th century; 20 km from Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi and the city of Carcassonne, La Forge de Montolieu is composed of a large guest house (4 bedrooms) in which live year-round its owners Charles and Laura Cowen, two independent houses for rent seasonally (Le Chalet and La Maisonette) and three unusual accommodations (Cocoon, the Dome and the Tiny House).
Travelers have access to the park of La Forge de Montolieu, available to all guests of The Forge. The property has a lake, river, waterfalls and several landscaped accesses to the river. For swimmers, the village of Montolieu has a lovely municipal pool.

State of rental / Inventory
State of rental performed in the presence of both parties: the parties agree to establish and sign an inventory on the entry and the release date. In the case of existence of rental damage or incomplete inventory, the deposit will be repaid within a maximum period of two months, expenditure on compensation for damages deducted, justification and supporting invoices.
The Owner agrees to maintain the lease subject of this contract in a very satisfactory state of repair, cleanliness and safety. He agrees to report promptly to the Tenant any independent change that will alter comfort or disturb the enjoyment of the leased property (nuisance, failure of equipment etc.) If a device or equipment having a major influence on the comfort of the Tenant, were to be faulty, the Owner agrees to implement the means to repair or replacement as soon as possible.
He will ensure that the Tenant has a full enjoyment of the property during the period. He will ensure the delivery of keys. He is not to disturb the comfort and tranquility of the tenant for the duration of his stay.

Rules of The Forge of Montolieu
The park and facilities are reserved for the use of tenants - thus excluding any other person unless specifically requested. The walk in the park is free, however, please obey signs and other banners that indicate hazardous or delicate areas, or the properties of the neighbors of La Forge de Montolieu. Minor children are under the responsibility of their parents or their companions; they must always be accompanied by an adult when they are near the lake or river or waterhole. The management of SARL La Forge de Montolieu and all officers, employees, disclaims all liability related to outdoor activities. In this Release Agreement, the term "wilderness activities" shall include, but not limited to: hiking, rock climbing, swimming in the river or in the lake or any other watercourse and any activity, any use of facilities provided, arranged or organized by the lessor, including accommodation.
Each person is free to move and fully assume such risks, dangers and obstacles and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage, or any loss arising from the above. All expenses related to such activities, or unexpected emergency aid will be at the customer's expense and will not be assumed by the owners).
The Tenant waives all recourse against the owner or his insurance after a disaster of any nature whatsoever causing injuries to people or materials.
Assignment and Subletting
This rental contract is concluded in favor of the single tenant signatory hereof. Assignment of lease, sublease total or partial, is strictly forbidden.
