Regarding the Pet Fee, we had no idea Susanna was bringing a dog, as she did not communicate it in her reservation message. We do post our Pet Fee in our Airbnb House Rules, as I communicated to Suzanna when she arrived. We also waived the $100 pet security deposit as she was not notified previously.
Suzanna also did not notify us she is a strict vegitarian, but once I found out, I provided her vegitarian choices for her.
I did send a previsit communication to Suzanna which also included our detailed driving directions, but at the time did not know about the dog. Our house rules are also posted in our bedrooms.
Regarding the food charges,a full breakfast is included in the room rate. We have sheets explaining our rentals and available food after breakfast; provided per guest request . Suzanna ordered her dinner off that sheet. The quesadilla platter and guacamole came to $13; I only charged her $12, the cost of a dinner per person, clearly stated on that sheet.
We do not list our food services or charges on Airbnb. That information is only available on site.
Note to Airbnb: it would be helpful for hosts who have pet fees, to have a method to know the guest will be bringing a pet and charge that fee through Airbnb, at the time of the reservation.
