Welcome to our sustainable family farm set on 112 acres in the rolling hills of the Susquehanna River Valley. Sheep, border collies, pigs, chickens, horses and bees will make your visit an adventure! You will be our only guests. Heading to Knoebels? Easy 20-minute drive. Your home-away-from home is an historic, renovated carriage barn with bedroom upstairs and kitchen/bath downstairs. Exposed beams and peg construction connect the past with the present. No dogs, but boarding nearby.

De ruimte

There is one large sleeping room with two bunk beds...twin above, double below. There are also two sofas. Thus, we can accommodate up to 6 people if the beds are shared or a guest takes the sofa. There are a zillion possibilities depending on whether you have kids and what ages they are.

Interactie met gasten

We like to give our guests their privacy, but they can always reach us by cell phone.

Andere dingen waar je op moet letten

Our dogs are at liberty some of the time, so this is not a good choice for someone terrified of dogs. Note that horseback riding is not something we offer to the public, but New Creations Farm in Sunbury does. They are about 5 miles from us.

We loved our stay here. The farm is beautiful and we really enjoyed getting to meet all the animals. It was a great change of pace from Philadelphia. Conveniently located between the towns of Danville and Sunbury so there were lots of good options for restaurants. We will definitely book here again.

We were looking for a place to sleep a family of 6 for one night during a Knoebels weekend. The Owens Farm Lodge met that need and was adequate and affordable. The hosts were very accommodating with check-in time and process. The GPS didn't spot us to the correct location and we got slightly lost. Also had trouble keeping satellite signal and there was no phone service for AT&T. PROS: Affordable lodging for family of 6; easy check-in, AC and heat easy to control, clean shower with good water pressure and enough hot water; comfortable beds. CONS: Asthetically unrefined; uneven floors, odd kitchen cieling, visible cords and wires, dated furniture; spider webs in some corners and windows, dead bugs/flies in kitchen window, shower leaked into kitchen area, very bright morning sun with no window shades, bees building a nest outside front entrance, no locks, outside is weedy and a little unkept. Overall, adequate but slightly below average. If you're looking for a quaint/cute farm B&B style, pass this one by. If you're OK with a more rustic and unrefined DIY cabin like farm experience, this will work for you. We wish the best for this sustainable farm and educational facility, but as a lodging experience we took a family poll and give it a grade of C- .

As you read in the description, our guest house is a remodeled carriage barn dating back to the 1800's. Uneven floors, dated furniture, odd ceiling? Yes, it is indeed a building with lots of character! (BTW, there was a lock and key). We had to chuckle at your weed comment. Was it the Monarch Butterfly garden? The native pollinator habitat? A tall pasture ready for grazing? Your one-night timetable didn't allow for a farm tour, so we were not able to show you the farm and explain the purpose behind everything.

Truly a hidden gem in Central PA. My family stayed with Caroline and David as part of our experience visiting Knoebles and Danville. Both Caroline and David were patient with the questions my son had and took their time to explain the day to day operations of their farm. We enjoyed a comfortable stay in the loft with great bedding, and were offered some amenities that you may forget at home. It was fantastic to tour the farm and visit the animals, and to see the spectacular views from the 100 + acres. Caroline spent a morningallowing us to assist in counting sheep for shipment and installing new fencing for the sheep. Great communication from the hosts. We will return for sure.

What a wonderful stay. There are few opportunities to stay on a working farm and be able to stroll around. It is a sustainable farming operation which is wonderful to see first hand. Caroline is a fantastic host. We really enjoyed staying in the barn loft, meeting the dogs and cats, and visiting the sheep, pigs, and horses.

This was a great place to stay with kids. We stayed here for two nights while visiting Knoebels. Caroline showed us around the farm and we got to see sheep getting ready to be sold and transported to Vermont. The kids liked getting the eggs from the chickens for breakfast and we all enjoyed our nightly walks to see the pigs. It was so quiet and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We definitely hope to return!

This was a fantastic trip for my children to learn more about a farm. The hosts welcomed them into everyday activities and allowed them to interact with the animals.
