I am a born and raised “Yooper”. I lived in the Ishpeming /Negaunee area for 40 years. I come from deep family history of miners. I taught school in Ishpeming for 10 years, part of which covered local history. My daughter attended Michigan Tech University for 4 years, thus I have spent much time traveling “Copper Country” and getting to know it well and still continue too as it became a favorite area of ours. I Recently narrated and was part of a documentary of that area’s mining...what it was and what it is today. I have now lived in Marquette for 15 years, now knowing this area quite well. For 15 years to current with my work I’ve traveled the Upper Peninsula extensively and over and over visiting clients in their small UP towns and listening to their stories of their towns. My knowledge comes directly from the people of the area.
